‘K-STAR news’ meets with MBLAQ Lee Joon’s mom and teacher @ 5:28 AM

SBS E!TV Global Entertainment ‘K-STAR news’ met with MBLAQ member Lee Joon‘s mom and previous teacher in order to find out more about the multi-talented singer.

The production crew was curious to found out about this “Little Rain”, a nickname he acquired after playing Rain‘s younger self in the movie “Ninja Assassin”.

Before Lee Joon’s debut in MBLAQ, he was known for his good looks and modeled for wigs, home shopping, and even hangover drink ads.

In addition, he was a modern dance major in ‘Korea National University of Arts’, and received a lot of attention as a born natural in school. Today he combines his dance moves and acting abilities in order to show powerful performances on stage.

Interestingly, he is the complete opposite on variety shows, and brings laughter to the audience by being himself. He is known to be a down to earth, silly idol with a heart of gold.

You can watch the clip on Lee Joon with MC Son Ho Young and Yoo Yeon Ji’s ‘K-STAR news’ on Friday at 10PM KST.

SNSD unveils Sunny & Hyoyeon’s comeback photos for ‘The Boys’! @ 2:53 AM

Like Taeyeon‘s photo, Sunny and Hyoyeon’s photos both carry auras of elegance while stunning fans with the ladies’ new looks. Sunny wears a red hood and ruffled cream dress with heavy eyeliner and side-swept blonde hair. Hyoyeon sports a short blonde bob with flowers dramatically accenting her head, with unconventional make-up to match.

With these three releases, fans have been attempting to piece together what this track concept will be. Many speculated that there would be an underlying fairytale theme, as Taeyeon holds a red apple in her hand like Snow White and Sunny’s outfit alludes to the Red Riding Hood. Though not a fairytale character, many fans are already exclaiming that Hyoyeon’s piercing stare is reminiscent of the Parisian Amélie.

10 ways to sleep in class without getting caught @ 1:31 AM

I'm sure everyone has ever found urself falling asleep in class before. And when you fall asleep you will feel a sense of guilt & a bit scared cos scared teacher catch you right? Don't worry, here are 10 tips on how you can fall asleep in class without getting caught:

1) The "I Dropped Something" Method: Place a pencil on the floor near your desk on the right side. Place your left arm horizontally on the edge of the desk. Put forehead on the arm. Let your right arm flop down as if you are reaching for the pencil.

2) The Book Method: Set up your left arm in the same way as the last method. Open a book and place it on your lap. Place your head down on your arm. Place your right hand on the pages.

3) The Book Method #2: Place a hardcover book on your desk opened to the very middle (so the pages don't turn themselves.) Put your elbows on your desk next to the book with your forearms up. Using your hands shield your eyes like a sun visor/ baseball cap.

4) Book Method #3: One very comfortable way to sleep in class, assuming them teachers does not care if you sleep, is to simply put a book flat on your desk, and rest your forehead on it. While doing this it is important to just keep your arms relaxed in your lap. The downside to this method is it makes it quite obvious you are or are trying to sleep. The major benefit of this method is that it doesn't cause your arms or any other part of your body to "fall asleep" (no pun intended), thus allowing you to sleep longer without being awoken by your arms tingling in discomfort.

5) The Desk Method: Put your arm and head in the usual positions. Reach inside your desk, as if you are rummaging for something.

6) The "I'm taking notes method": Place some paper or notes, preferably with some writing on them, on the table. Place your left elbow on the table and rest the corner of your forehead on the heel of your left palm. Face your head downwards so that you are looking at the edge of your desk. Hold a pen in your right hand to the paper in front of you, as though you were writing something. Also, you can adjust your seat so that you tilt your head and body away from the teacher as much as possible. Switch hands where necessary so that the arm you're resting on shields you from the teacher.

7) The I'm-Reading-Under-The-Desk-Method. Place a book open on your lap, fold your arms on the desk, and put your head down so it looks like your reading your textbook. Answer a couple questions while in this position before you g o to sleep, so your teacher thinks your awake and paying attention.

8) Try to cup your face if you are reading something. To do this, cup your hands around your eyes and rest your chin in your palms.

9) Grab a book and put in standing up on your desk shielding your face from the teacher.

10) This method only will work on a computer(computer class, technology ect.) open a "important" webpage, place on hand on the mouse, one hand on the keyboard and slowly fall asleep.

Sweet dreams!~

Out of 27 girl groups who made debuts in 2011, two shine the brightest @ 3:50 AM

Idols in the Korean pop industry are still hanging on strong in the latter half of 2011, including the strong force of rookie girl groups. In all, there were a total of 27 girl groups that made their debuts this year.

Even though girl groups are currently the “hot” topic in kpop, it surely doesn’t mean every single group receives the love from fans they are looking for. The number of new girl groups definitely grew, however the percentage of teams actually succeeding decreased.

The girl groups that debuted are: Dal Shabet, A-Pink, Rania, Brave Girls, Chi-Chi, Bella, Chocolat, April Kiss, Piggy Dolls, 5Dolls, INY, Leader’S, SpinEl, Blady, Ei-yo, Swan.B, Swincle, Carcaro Girl, Eye to Eye, Ocean Girls, Wine Hold Venus, Coin Jackson, Black Eye, Elizabeth, Swing Girls, Stellar, and Mascot. Dal Shabet and A-Pink were the two rookie girl groups that received successful critiques out of the 27 groups.

The success behind six member girl group Dal Shabet is that their songs receive a lot of love from fans. Also through a time frame of eight months, they continued to come out with new material, releasing 3 different mini-albums. Starting with “Supa Dupa Diva“, “Pink Rocket“, and their most recent song “Bling Bling“, the group grows more mature with each new song they release. Perhaps it is due to the fact they were produced by E-tribe, a renowned hit song maker.

The other girl group A-Pink is under Cube Entertainment’s independent label A-Cube Agency, which plays with the other top 3 entertainment agencies SM, JYP and YG. The seven member girl group has received a lot of interest due to their mirror image replica of the 90’s pure and fairy-like concept. Their debut song “I Don’t Know” definitely paved the way to their success.

In addition, to those two, special mention should go to some of the other girl groups. Teddy Riley who composed Michael Jackson’s “Dangerous“, produced girl group Rania. One of the top Korean hit producers Brave Brothers unleashed his girl group, Brave Girls. Music Entertainment company Yedang also released their own girl group, Chi-Chi. Bella also known as ‘sexy Big Mama’ also received interest from fans.

There is even a mixed race girl group receiving popularity named Chocolat. Girl group April Kiss is being called ‘the girl version of 2PM’. Also, Kim Ga Young, a member of Stellar, was a special guest on KBS‘s ‘1 Night and 2 Days’ her appearance on the show receiving much enthusiasm for her group’s debut album. Stellar also received attention as they are signed with Top Class Entertainment, the entertainment agency Shinhwa‘s Eric Mun.

Kim Tae Won of GP Entertainment commented, “It is a fact that there is a high demand for girl groups however the supply is also high. Although girl groups are the thing right now, getting a chance to be on a music program isn’t easy.” ”If a girl group wants to survive the competitive fight amongst girl groups, every detail and planning has to be carefully researched and delivered.”
